  5. Once clamped on shim, we suggest lightly facing off the whole top of Micro Vise clean to qualify the top Z surface. Then mill pockets as needed.

3. Place .010 or .020 shim (yellow) into Micro Vise as shown and snug up the 3 jaws with hex wrench or inch/lbs torque wrench for more precise control.

Recommendations for Use

We recommend using an inch/lbs. torque wrench for the best repeatability and accuracy.

An inch/lbs. torque wrench is not needed to use the Micro Vise, but for the best accuracy & repeatability,  we recommend this torque wrench https://amzn.to/3YDCbmE along with this socket https://amzn.to/4cnIiyH as these tools have been proven out , running thousands of cycles with the Mico Vise.

Torque Recommendation

This Micro Vise is designed for very small parts, typically ranging from about the size of a pencil eraser up to a bottle cap. Either round, square or irregular shapes. It is ideal for holding delicate components during machining or inspection. For most applications, and depending on delicacy of part, tighten the 1/4-20 clamp screw hand tight, or with inch/lbs torque wrench typically 10–30 in-lb. This provides adequate clamping
force for most small precision parts while helping prevent damage to the aluminum vise body or distortion of delicate workpieces.

Maximum recommended torque: 50 in-lb

Do not exceed 50 in-lb.
